BHGI guideline methodology applied to develop Asian cancer guidelines
The
Asian Oncology Summit 2009 held in Singapore hosted six Cancer
Suites in which expert panels developed resource stratified approaches for
management of six cancer scenarios. Each panel was directed to determine a
resource-stratification approach appropriate for program development in Asia.
In its November 2009 issue, the prestigious British medical journal
Lancet Oncology published the resulting six cancer treatment
guideline consensus manuscripts aimed at the resource-diverse nations of Asia,
using the stratified-resource economic template developed by the Breast
Health Global Initiative (BHGI).
