Upcoming Summit

BHGI's 2012 "Global Summit on International Breast Health: Guidelines for International Breast Health and Cancer Control - Supportive Care and Quality of Life" will be convened by the BHGI Alliance in cooperation with the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Programme of Action for Cancer Therapy (PACT).

The Summit will be held October 3-5, 2012, immediately following ESMO, and will feature open registration. A unique event in the international health community, the Summit will analyze Supportive Care and Quality of Life (QOL) issues for breast cancer patients in medically underserved scenarios, enhance knowledge and understanding of optimal breast health care delivery in low and middle income countries (LMCs), and, ultimately, produce essential clinical medical tools. Summary of Past Global Summits and Guidelines Publications

In a biennial series of Global Summit(s) on International Breast Health (2002, 2005, 2007, 2010), BHGI developed a model approach for Guidelines to effectively detect, diagnose and treat breast cancer in LMCs, endorsed by the Institute of Medicine. 

2002-2010: Four (4) Global Summits have produced biennial editions of clinical guideline and special peer-reviewed consensus, evidence-based scientific publications that serve as freely available "medical tools" for LMCs.

2008-2012: BHGI launches 5-Year Implementation Plan
