Early Detection & Screening Program: Saudi Arabia Situation Analysis

Organized through ICF International in association with Komen for the Cure, Dr. Anderson visited Riyadh to provide a situation analysis in preparation for the institution of a comprehensive early detection and screening program for Saudi Arabia.  This program is being organized under the direction of Abdullah S. Al-Amro, MD, FRCPC, Chief Executive Officer, King Fahad Medical City (KFMC), Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In his presentation, Dr. Anderson discusses recent advances in breast cancer surgical techniques and the evolution of breast cancer surgical treatments from radical mastectomy to current state of the art breast conservation techniques. He also discusses his work with the Breast Health Global Initiative and its mission to implement and study evidence based, economically feasible, and culturally appropriate guidelines for international cancer control and care.
